*Former heavyweight title winner Deontay Wilder is concerned that Mike Tyson could be seriously injured if he fights Jake Paul.
As we reported earlier via CNN, Paul, 27, will face the 57-year-old heavyweight legend in an exhibition boxing match on July 20. The event will be broadcast exclusively on Netflix and held at the 80,000-seat capacity AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys.
Tyson last fought professionally in June 2005 and boasts a 50-6 career record.
“I think it’s bad the commission has licensed Mike Tyson because he hasn’t been active in 20 years, so they should not just license him because of who he is, that’s how people get hurt – God forbid he gets hurt,” Wilder told Sportsbook Review.
“People can get hit in the wrong place and at the wrong time, there’s lots of examples where guys have been hit into a coma. It’s easy to do. He’s too old for this.

“At the end of the day, no one gives a f— about Mike,” Wilder added.
“As long as you’re willing to suffer the consequences if something bad goes wrong,” he said.
Meanwhile, Jake Paul previously stated, “This will be the fight of a lifetime.”
“My sights are set on becoming a world champion, and now I have a chance to prove myself against the greatest heavyweight champion ever, the baddest man on the planet, and the most dangerous boxer of all time,” Paul said in a statement.
“He’s grown significantly as a boxer over the years, so it will be a lot of fun to see what the will and ambition of a ‘kid’ can do with the experience and aptitude of a GOAT (greatest of all time),” Tyson said of Paul, per a statement.
“It’s a full circle moment that will be beyond thrilling to watch; as I started him on his boxing journey on the undercard of my fight with Roy Jones and now I plan to finish him.”
Tyson has been hitting the gym hard to train for the fight — watch the YouTube clip below.
