*Former WWE Superstar David Otunga recently shared his nuanced perspective on wrestling legend Hulk Hogan during an appearance on “TMZ Live.”
The 45-year-old, a two-time Tag Team Champion, expressed his childhood admiration for the Hulkster, recalling their first meeting as a cherished moment. “The way I look at his legacy is, obviously, what he said is reprehensible and who he is as a man is one thing,” Otunga said, referencing Hogan’s racist slurs from a leaked sex tape. Despite cordial personal interactions, he admitted, “I can’t ignore what I heard.”
Otunga emphasized the enduring impact of Hogan’s wrestling persona, stating, “But for me, the character Hulk Hogan and what he represented and as a symbol is so much, it was so powerful for me, and shaped a lot of my life — that’s why I became a professional wrestler.”

Otunga chooses to focus on the positive influence of the character while acknowledging the real-life controversies surrounding Terry Bollea, Hogan’s legal name.
Meanwhile, in a separate development, we reproted earlier that Brooke Hogan, Hulk’s daughter, made headlines by requesting exclusion from her father’s nearly $5 million estate. Court documents filed by Hulk’s son, Nick, reveal assets including $200,000 in cryptocurrency, $799,000 in personal and intellectual property, and $4 million in publicity rights.
“She didn’t trust the people around him and didn’t want to be involved in a financial battle when he passed,” a source close to Brooke explained, noting her decision in 2023 to avoid conflicts with figures like Hogan’s ex-wife, Linda.
Hulk Hogan, who died of cardiac arrest on July 24, 2025, at age 71, drafted his will in 2016 and amended it four times between 2017 and 2023. Brooke’s choice was influenced by a strained relationship marked by years of verbal and mental abuse from her father, despite a reconciliation before his death.
