*Chris Rock’s marriage to Malaak Compton-Rock lasted nearly two decades, but ending it proved just as complicated as the union itself.
After 19 years together, the couple announced their separation in 2014, with the divorce becoming official two years later. According to Cheat Sheet, an expired prenuptial agreement shifted negotiating power in Compton-Rock’s favor. Having devoted much of the marriage to raising their children and charitable work, her legal team argued she deserved support matching the couple’s established standard of living.
The full settlement terms remain sealed by court order, but Celebrity Net Worth estimates she walked away with roughly $40 million — consistent with Rock’s reported fortune of approximately $70 million at the time. Rock has publicly acknowledged that his infidelities contributed to the marriage’s collapse.
He eventually addressed the divorce through comedy. On “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” in 2021, Rock said, “This is how much money I lost in my divorce. I recommended my ex-wife’s divorce lawyer. I was like, ‘You should get this guy. He’ll get you your money. This guy is good.’ I walked out with nothing.” He added, “You think I’m joking. I really did.”
As of March 2026, Rock has moved on romantically, photographed kissing and holding hands with Los Angeles-based DJ and creative producer Simone Henault in New York City. The comedian has not confirmed he is in a relationship with Henault.
According to PEOPLE, Henault has performed at exclusive venues, including Soho House and Shoreditch House in London. In November 2025, she reflected on her growing performance schedule with anticipation for what lies ahead.
“Looking back on all the sets I had an opportunity to do around LA and I can’t wait for more,” she wrote on Instagram. “Thank you for everyone who danced with me and allowed me to explore a full range of sounds. Feeling invigorated and energized about what’s to come, stay tuned.”
