*Lifetime is set to captivate audiences again with its latest movie franchise, “Temptations,” following the massive success of the “Seven Deadly Sins” films. The new series starts with two compelling dramas—”Desire: A Temptations Story” and “Fame: A Temptations Story”—premiering this April and packed with gripping storytelling, star power, and high-stakes drama.
Premiering on Saturday, April 19, at 8/7c, “Desire: A Temptations Story” stars acclaimed actress and director Tasha Smith (Survival of the Thickest) as Kendra, a successful talk show host whose life takes an unexpected turn after a spontaneous romance with the charming Malcolm, played by NAACP Image Award winner Adrian Holmes (Bel-Air). What begins as an idyllic love story quickly spirals into a perilous journey when Malcolm’s hidden past emerges, forcing Kendra to question everything she thought she knew about love and desire.
The film also features a stellar supporting cast, including Jamall Johnson, Millan Tesfazgi, Miranda Edwards, Everick Golding, Requell Jodeah, and Diana Pavlovská. Directed by Robert Adetuyi, the script is crafted by Kate Green and Jane Espenson, promising a suspenseful narrative filled with passion, betrayal, and unforeseen consequences.
One week later, on April 26 at 8/7c, Lifetime premieres “Fame: A Temptations Story,” starring award-winning artists Keri Hilson (Almost Christmas) and Keshia Chanté (Law & Order, 106 & Park) as Cherish and Roxy, two sisters who are the hottest singing duo in the industry. Though they share the spotlight, their relationship is riddled with rivalry and suspicion. When their penthouse becomes the target of a shocking jewel heist, rumors swirl that Roxy may have staged the crime herself. As the sisters grapple with their fractured bond, they must decide if fame is worth more than family.
The ensemble cast includes Romeo Miller, Ecstasia Sanders, Nathan Witte, Veronica Long, Reese Alexander, and Sophie Carriere. Directed by Robert Adetuyi, the screenplay was written by Andrea Shawcross, Annmarie Morais, and Jane Espenson, ensuring a thrilling and emotional rollercoaster.
