*Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) has released a series of new videos spotlighting five Black Republican congressional lawmakers.

The first episode of the series, “America’s Starting Five,” challenged the stereotype that Black individuals are inherently aligned with the Democratic Party in their voting patterns and political affiliations, The Hill reports.

The series features a roundtable discussion with Scott and Reps. Burgess Owens (Utah), John James (Mich.) and Wesley Hunt (Texas). Rep. Byron Donalds (Fla.) is part of the series; however, he did not participate in the roundtable discussion in the inaugural video that aired on Friday.

“In the first episode, the group discusses Joe Biden’s ‘you ain’t Black’ comments, what it means to be a Black Republican, and the growing coalition of Black Republicans,” the video caption reads.

The episode also featured a clip of Biden saying that “poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids.”

“Here’s the thing: I don’t think these are gaffes,” James said, the Washington Examiner reports.  “I think Joe Biden is as serious as all get. I think this is exactly what he thinks.”

“The arrogance of these white liberals condescending not just African Americans, but poor kids in general,” James continued. “He’s talking about a social economic divide. He’s talking about elites against working class and poor people. And this can explain why a lot of their policies are beginning to move things away from where they’re most needed.”

Scott noted that “It’s sometimes frustrating as well as entertaining.”

He continued, “Frustrating in that Democrats and Joe Biden get away with saying the darnedest things and never held accountable by anyone for the things they say so salaciously. Entertaining because that is funny. I mean, seriously that’s the thing that you can’t be Black? An old white dude telling me I can’t be Black if I don’t vote for him?”

As The Hill reports, Scott revealed that his grandmother was a conservative.

“She may never have said the word ‘conservative,’ she may never have voted for a conservative, but everything she taught me was conservative,” he said.

You can watch the first installment of “America’s Starting Five” via the YouTube clip above. The second episode airs April 12.
