Senator Tim Scott Slammed Over ‘Humiliating,’ Sucking Up to Trump Remarks | WATCH

*Senator Tim Scott is catching heat after stating on “The Ingraham Angle” that former President Trump achieved “more for minorities” than President Joe Biden.

The Hill reports that the South Carolina Republican said, “Think about the fact that Donald Trump put more money in historically Black colleges and universities than any other president.”

Senator Scott praised Trump for allegedly lowering unemployment and raising awareness about sickle cell anemia, a blood disorder that disproportionately affects Black people. 

Scott added, “Guess what? He’ll help white people and Black people and brown people. I mean, he likes everybody.”

Meanwhile, after Trump defeated South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley in New Hampshire’s GOP primary, Scott joined him on stage. 

“You must really hate her,” Trump told Scott, referring to Haley.  Scott replied, “I just love you!”

The Rev. Al Sharpton reacted to the moment on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe, calling Scott “humiliating” and noted that Scott’s reaction “bothered me all night.”

“It was humiliating to watch what Tim Scott did as a sitting senator,” said Sharpton.

“It’s not a good thing in my life to watch Tim do that,” Sharpton said. “He has a right to be Republican; he has a right to do Donald Trump. But to do it in such a way that is so humiliating was troubling.”

Meanwhile, Ingraham asked Scott about sharing the spotlight with Trump, “Was it uncomfortable up there? Nikki Haley’s your buddy. These things are uncomfortable. You’re sitting up there and he’s pretty tough on her last night. I mean, it was pretty tough. The dress, I probably wouldn’t have recommended that he go after the dress. I mean, that’s Trump. But was it uncomfortable for you because of your friendship with her?”

Scott responded, “Listen, she served our state well as a conservative governor. She has decided to be a moderator Republican presidential candidate.”
