James McAvoy Stars in Blumhouse’s Horror Remake ‘Speak No Evil’ | Trailer

*James McAvoy stars in the Blumhouse remake of the 2022 thriller “Speak No Evil” from director James Watkins.

The new trailer was unveiled this week during Universal’s CinemaCon presentation, and many social media users are not impressed that the studio invested in a remark of the acclaimed 2022 Danish original. One X/Twitter user wrote, “For those who don’t want to wait… this exact movie was made 2 years ago.. (literally scene by scene copy). Solid movie with decent twists.” Another critic wrote, “… they really put the twist in the damn trailer. What a shame.”

The film tells the story of “a family invited for a weekend at an idyllic country house–a dream holiday that warps into a snarled psychological nightmare.” McAvoy stars alongside Mackenzie Davis, Scoot McNairy, and Aisling Franciosi.

Per Deadline, Watkins said about McAvoy’s character, “Part of Paddy is a charming gregarious friend, host, and father, and on the other hand, he’s well, not that at all.”
