*Ice Cube invited Shaquille O’Neal to play for his BIG3 League after the NBA icon expressed interest in playing professional basketball again.
During a recent episode of Shaq’s The Big Podcast, he asked his cohost, ex-NBA player Mario Chalmers, if he could play in Cube’s basketball organization.
“You think I can play in the BIG3?,” O’Neal asked Chalmers, who currently plays in the BIG3 League, Vibe reports.
“Yeah, easily. I got the perfect spot for you, too. Come over there with me and Mike Beasley. You ain’t gotta do nothing but stay in the paint,” Chalmers replied.
However, Shaq noted a recent hip surgery as a possible impediment.

“You really think I could play? I thought about it. I just had hip surgery and I ain’t played since,” he shared. “I don’t think I can get back in that mood.”
When Ice Cube heard about the discussion, he used X/Twitter to respond to the former Los Angeles Laker.
“We got the contract ready for you, big fella. You got three months to get Diesel. You can eat all day in @thebig3 @SHAQ,” Cube wrote.

Cube recently announced that The Big 3 League, which kicks off its seventh season on June 15th, will be streaming on X, Hip Hop DX reports. Fans criticized Ice Cube’s decision to collaborate with X owner Elon Musk, whom he had clashed with in the past.
“Love and respect Cube but his alignment with a white supremest [sic] is all we need to know. I get it money matters so do you my guy. Just keep it 100 and don’t Trojan horse for them. White Supremacy is who you are and represent. Enjoy!!,” one fan commented on X, per Hip Hop DX.
Ice Cube responded, “Shut yo bitch ass up! I ain’t aligned with nothing, punk. I draw my own fuckin lines.”
