*Colman Domingo is reportedly being considered to replace Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
According to film insider Daniel Richtman, Domingo tops the list of frontrunners to take over the Kang role, Complex reports.
“Colman Domingo as Kang would have me instantly bought back in,” one X/Twitter user wrote. “Colman is an exceptional human and talent, in my experiences. He is so versatile as an actor. No better choice and I hope this is true.”
Another person added, “And he actually looks more like Kang. I can’t explain it. He just looks more fit for the role than Johnathan ever was, though John did do a fantastic job with He Who Remains in Loki.”
Marvel dropped Majors as Kang the Conqueror after he was found guilty in December 2023 of assault and harassment involving his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. He appeared as the supervillain in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” in Feb. 2023 and the “Loki” series on Disney+.
Majors was also set to play Kang in “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty,” slated to premiere in 2026.
Additionally, his acclaimed drama “Magazine Dreams” has been postponed indefinitely following the guilty verdict in the domestic violence case. Disney pulled the title from the release schedule after it was initially set for a Dec. 4 release.
Meanwhile, you can catch Domingo as “Rustin,” which is now streaming on Netflix. The movie tells the story of charismatic, gay, civil rights activist Bayard Rustin, who overcame an onslaught of obstacles and altered the course of American history by organizing the 1963 March on Washington.
Domingo stars alongside Chris Rock as activist Roy Wilkins; Glynn Turman is A. Philip Randolph, and Audra McDonald portrays Ella Baker.
