*Candace Owens has once again given folk something to talk about, as an evangelical leader urges churches to close the door” on her.
According to The Christian Post, Laurie Cardoza-Moore, president of the nonprofit Proclaiming Justice to The Nations, condemned remarks Owens made about Israel and Jewish people that many labeled antisemitic.
The eyebrow-raising remarks have led to Owens’ public departure from conservative news outlet The Daily Wire. In a statement published by The Jerusalem Post in late November, Cardoza-Moore detailed her criticism of the controversial pundit, whose “blind Jew-hatred”, she feels is “rooted in the sewers of historical Christian antisemitism” and a departure from the “Candace Owens we once knew.”
“Candace Owens has verged into the abyss of blind Jew-hatred, rooted in the sewers of historical Christian antisemitism, which led to the death of millions of Jews in the name of Christianity,” she expressed. “Her ideas are a lethal cocktail of conspiracy theories and heresy, rejected by almost every denomination in Christendom.”
“It’s time that churches close the doors on Candace. The Candace Owens we once knew is no longer there,” Cardoza-Moore continued. “She has no substance beyond her repugnant, unfounded, and obsessive hate for God’s Chosen People. There is no place for her anywhere in the Conservative Christian world.”

Cardoza-Moore’s statement comes as New Zealand cracks down on Owens by denying her entry into the country for speaking engagements, as The Associated Press reports. Weeks earlier, Australia brought a similar punishment to her with other speaking engagements.
Australian officials referenced remarks Owens made in July on her independent podcast “Candace,” as the basis behind their entry denial against the conservative. In her comments, Owens referred to reports of Nazi experiments on Jews as “bizarre propaganda.”
Owens’ drama with New Zealand, Australia, and Cardoza-Moore marks the latest situation where she has generated opposition.
Before leaving the Daily Wire, Owens accused Israel of genocide against Palestinians after it launched a military offensive in Gaza. The offensive was in response to Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023, terrorist attack in southern Israel that killed nearly 1,200 people, the Post noted.
Owens further fanned flames against Israel during a November 2023 interview with Jewish comedian Ami Kozak. The political activist went on record, suggesting Israel forced Muslim to live at an area in Jerusalem known as the “Muslim Quarter.” Comparing the situation to “Jim Crow” policies in the American South before Kozak corrected her, Owens defended her stance saying Israel doesn’t force Muslims to live in the quarter, adding that a Christian Quarter and a Jewish Quarter exist.

Owens’ antisemitic views were once again made known with her online disagreement with author Rabbi Shmuley Boteach.
At the center of the dispute was a tweet Owens liked that asked if Boteach was “drunk on Christian blood,” an antisemitic stereotype. Soon after the interaction, The Daily Wire and Owens ended their relationship, with Owens launching her podcast.
Cardoza-Moore weighed in on her view of Owens’ “hatred” of Jews in a statement to the Post, calling it a “violation of God’s word.”
“Owens leans on outdated Catholic dogma that was long dismissed by the Vatican to justify Holocaust Denial and conspiracy theories,” she said while stressing that Christians must “banish people like Candace Owens from all churches.”
Cardoza-Moore added: “Had she simply opened her Bible, she would have read that God chose the people of Israel and gave them the land of Israel — anything else is political propaganda. The Bible is Zionist. Abraham was the first Jew to move to Israel on God’s invitation. The majority of Jews are Zionists and so are many Bible-believing Christians. Therefore, the idea that you can separate the Body from the Soul is disingenuous.”
