*Critics and fans alike are crazy in love with Beyoncé’s latest country-inspired album, “Cowboy Carter,” which dropped Friday.
The album includes duets with Miley Cyrus and rapper Post Malone, as well as covers of Dolly Parton’s classic hit “Jolene” and The Beatles’ “Blackbird.” Legendary country singers Willie Nelson and Linda Martell are also featured.
Page Six critic Nicholas Hautman said Bey’s eighth studio album is “the revival that country music so desperately needed.”
The Guardian’s Alexis Petridis said “Cowboy Carter” demonstrates the singer’s “ability to bend musical styles to her will.”
The 27-track project was released on March 29, with Petridis noting that it “might have worked better split into two separate albums.”

Meanwhile, on X (formally Twitter), one fan said Beyonce “literally took the genre, did it how they used to do it, did it how they’re doing it now, and then did it how she wanted to do it. Now THAT’S how you do it.”
Another person posted, “I just finished #COWBOYCARTER and all I can say is, “thank you Beyoncè”. She gave us country, pop, rock, gospel, trap, opera, ballroom all while including country legends and Black country artists who deserve flowers and a larger platform. 10’s across the board.”
A third wrote, “Did I just finish that album… or did that album just finish me?”
One X user said “Cowboy Carter” is “what you hear at the gates of heaven.”
“Act II: Cowboy Carter” arrives less than two years after the release of Act I of Bey’s planned trilogy. “Act I: Renaissance” was nominated for Album of the Year at the 2023 Grammys.
Beyoncé’s daughter, 6-year-old Rumi Carter, is among the artists credited on the new album.
“I hope this music is an experience, creating another journey where you can close your eyes, start from the beginning, and never stop,” Beyonce said in a message to fans. “This ain’t a Country album. This is a ‘Beyoncé’ album.”
