*In a recent episode of his podcast FLAGRANT, comedian Andrew Schulz has irreverently addressed Kendrick Lamar’s alleged diss aimed at white comedians discussing Black women.
The controversy ignited after K-Dot’s lines on the track “Wacced Out Murals,” where he stated, “Don’t let no white comedian talk about no Black woman, that’s law.” Fans quickly interpreted this as a direct jab at Schulz, given his frequent commentary on Black culture in both FLAGRANT and The Brilliant Idiots podcasts.
Seizing the opportunity, Schulz took a shot at Kendrick during his podcast, labeling the rapper a hypocrite in light of hip-hop’s often misogynistic undertones.
“Rappers are telling comedians we need to be more respectful to women, so we gotta sit back and reflect.” Schulz sarcastically added, “Nobody has respected women more through art than rappers,” emphasizing the contradiction in Kendrick’s critique.
Schulz continued with humor, quipping: “I completely understand how a rapper could look at a comedian telling a joke and be like, ‘Yo, you need to switch that sh**t up. How dare y’all keep saying your wives are annoying. Be more like us: B**ches ain’t nothing but hos and tricks.’”
This tongue-in-cheek commentary highlighted the double standards he perceives within the hip-hop community regarding respect for women, Hot 97 is reporting.
Additionally, Schulz criticized Lamar’s grammatical choices, stating that the Compton rapper’s lyrics suggest that “all white comedians [should] talk about Black women.”
He then argued that Kendrick’s embrace of South Park writers Trey Parker and Matt Stone further adds to the rapper’s perceived hypocrisy.
Schulz pointed out how Lamar has accepted the comedic work of those who have depicted Black characters for years, referencing the infamous “Token” character from the series.
The comedian humorously insinuated that Kendrick Lamar’s remarks could be a publicity grab.
“What a time to be alive where rappers gotta talk about comedians for clout. We are up right now.” He continued, “The biggest story out of the album was a sub at a comedian? And you ain’t even gotta say my name and it still makes headlines? You’re welcome. How many views did I give him, do you think?”
In an unexpected turn, Schulz decided to parody the situation by saying that rather than fighting, he would “make love” to Kendrick in a hypothetical confrontation.
“Kendrick’s people and his security, they will destroy me. But just Kendrick? I would make love to him and there’s nothing he could do about it.”
He elaborated on this humorous visualization, adding that Kendrick’s only choice would be the position.
Though Kendrick Lamar has yet to respond to Andrew Schulz’s remarks, TDE CEO Terrence “Punch” Henderson commented on X, expressing disbelief over Schulz’s statements.
“Wait… wait… I know as a Black man who’s involved in Hip Hop Music, that we are a bit slow and don’t really understand sarcasm and humor… but did my guy say he wants to sleep with Dot??”
As the conversation continues to unfold, Schulz’s humorous yet critical take on Lamar’s alleged diss reflects the complex dialogue surrounding race, respect, and artistry within the entertainment industry.
