*50 Cent shared an update on his upcoming Diddy documentary for Netflix which will cover the wild allegations made against the disgraced Bad Boy Records mogul.
Fifty will serve as executive producer on the project directed by Alexandria Stapleton, Variety reports. The rapper previously announced that Netflix won a bidding war for the docuseries which is currently under production,
“This is a story with significant human impact. It is a complex narrative spanning decades, not just the headlines or clips seen so far,” Fifty and Stapleton said in a joint statement, Complex reports.
“We remain steadfast in our commitment to give a voice to the voiceless and to present authentic and nuanced perspectives. While the allegations are disturbing, we urge all to remember that Sean Combs’ story is not the full story of hip-hop and its culture. We aim to ensure that individual actions do not overshadow the culture’s broader contributions.”
In November 2023, 50 Cent announced he was developing a documentary about Diddy, focusing on the sex scandals and controversies that have surrounded the music producer for years. Fiddy intends to donate the proceeds of the doc to victims of sexual assault.
Diddy is currently behind bars following his arrest in Manhattan last week on racketeering and sex trafficking charges. USA Today reports that the 14-page indictment accuses him of running his business like a criminal enterprise, involving sex trafficking and forced labor.
According to NBC News, the court documents state that Combs used “the sensitive, embarrassing and incriminating recordings that he made during Freak Offs as collateral to ensure the continued obedience and silence of the victims.”
Diddy allegedly “used force” to “cause victims to engage in extended sex acts with male commercial sex workers that Combs arranged, directed, masturbated during and often electronically recorded,” per the court documents.
In a message on social media, 50 Cent said he was right about the “weird sh*t” surrounding Diddy and his “Freak Offs.”
“I been telling y’all about all this weird shit, I don’t do NO puffy party’s. you didn’t believe me but I bet you believe me now!” he wrote in a post.
