*The 2024 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class is set to receive their official coronation as rock ‘n’ roll royalty on October 19. 

The prestigious event will unfold at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland during the 39th annual induction ceremony. Fans worldwide can catch the live stream exclusively on Disney+.

A nomination requires that an individual artist or band release their first commercial recording at least 25 years before the nomination year.

We reported previously that Mariah Carey and Mary J. Blige are among the 15 nominees for the 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

TODAY reports that the other artists are Cher, Ozzy Osbourne, Sade, A Tribe Called Quest, Lenny Kravitz, the late Sinéad O’Connor, Dave Matthews Band, Eric B. & Rakim, Foreigner, Peter Frampton, Jane’s Addiction, Kool & the Gang and Oasis.

“This remarkable list of Nominees reflects the diverse artists and music that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame honors and celebrates,” said John Sykes, Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation. 

“Continuing in the true spirit of Rock & Roll, these artists have created their own sounds that have impacted generations and influenced countless others that have followed in their footsteps,” Sykes added. 

Cher, Osbourne, Foreigner, Frampton, and Kool & the Gang are set to receive the honor after their first-time appearance on the ballot. Osbourne was inducted as a member of the rock group Black Sabbath in 2006. 

Per THR, the “event will also honor Jimmy Buffett, Dionne Warwick, Norman Whitfield and MC5 with the Musical Excellence Award; Big Mama Thornton, Alexis Korner and John Mayall will receive the Musical Influence Award; and Suzanne de Passe will earn the Ahmet Ertegun Award,” the outlet writes.
