*Tyrese Gibson is facing a lawsuit over “excessive alterations” to a rental property he resided in for six months.
According to the Blast, Tiffanique Webb filed a $25,000 lawsuit against the actor/singer, accusing him of “property damage.” The filings state that “excessive alterations” made to the rental caused the owner to suffer “loss of use of property” and “loss of capacity of earning.”
TMZ reports that the “Fast and Furious” star rented the 5-bedroom estate in Woodland Hills for six months starting in February for $20,000 monthly. After moving in, he began making “excessive alterations” to the house, according to the lawsuit.
Wolf claims Tyrese altered “electrical panels, adding electrical outlets that weren’t up to code, painting a marble fireplace in a shiny gold metallic color, closing off doors and windows, and causing damage to the HVAC units,” writes TMZ.
Tyrese showed off some of the changes inside the house in a video obtained by the outlet — see below. As a result of the alleged damages, Wolf is seeking compensation.
Meanwhile, Tyrese also faces a $10 million lawsuit by a director accusing the movie star of defamation.
Bryan Barber, the CEO and founder of video streaming platform Pivot Originals, claims Gibson made slanderous statements about him during a September 7 appearance on The Breakfast Club. The Blast reported that he is seeking $10 million in damages, claiming that Gibson’s statements were defamatory.
In related news, Gibson is suing the widow of Teddy Pendergrass, whom he accuses of refusing to extend the option for the rights to the late singer’s life story.
