*A new trailer has dropped for “John Wick Chapter 4,” in which a voiceover says “The only way John Wick will ever have freedom and peace is in death.”

And with that, let the purge begin!

Keanu Reeves is back to bust heads and crack skulls in the next installment of this believed franchise. This time, per the official synopsis, John Wick uncovers a path to defeating The High Table. But before he can earn his freedom, Wick must face off against a new enemy with powerful alliances across the globe and forces that turn old friends into foes.

Reeves, who serves as an executive producer on the project, co-stars along with Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgård, Laurence Fishburne, Hiroyuki Sanada, Shamier Anderson, Lance Reddick, Rina Sawayama, and Scott Adkins.

As Game Radar reports, the John Wick universe is set to expand this year with a three-episode miniseries titled “The Continental” starring Mel Gibson and Colin Woodell. The series is set in the eponymous New York hitman hotel from the movies.  Additionally, “Ballerina,” starring Ana de Armas as an assassin with a mysterious connection to Wick will debut later this year.

“John Wick: Chapter 4″ has the most action of any of the [John Wick] films, which is saying a lot,” Reeves tells Total Film.

“John Wick: Chapter 4 was the hardest physical role I’ve ever had in my career so far. They really trained me up to be able to have what we call the toolbox,” he continued. “We took the car-driving to the next level, which I really enjoy. There’s 180s, forward-into-reverse 180s, reverse into-forward 270s, drifting… So it was really fun to get a chance to learn those skills, and to play.”

Speaking to Wired, director Chad Stahelski explained the decision to avoid using VFX for the fight scenes and stunt choreography.

“We’re not, like, at war with VFX. It’s super handy, it’s a great tool. But you can’t beat the blood, sweat, and tears of real people,” he said. “And sometimes what we have in our heads doesn’t work, so we have to change it. You can’t rehearse 40 cars driving around in a parking lot, you gotta get it on the day. You don’t know what’s going to happen, so there’s a little desperation. Some of the best moments we’ve had in all four movies are — if not accidental, they’re incidental. It’s the imperfection that makes it special.”

“John Wick Chapter 4” opens in theaters on March 24 from Lionsgate.
