Funnyman D.C. Young Fly Shares Advice Eddie Murphy Gave Him | WATCH

*D.C. YOUNG FLY launched his career by garnering a massive following as a creative content creator. Today, he is known as a true multi-hyphenate as a comedian, actor, host, producer, voice-over actor, and musician.

Appearing opposite Eddie Murphy in a supporting role as Josh in Prime Video’s Christmas comedy “Candy Cane Lane,Mr. Young Fly garnered a few gems from the comedy legend.

“You have to realize why you did things and your purpose and learn from it,” he shared. “There was a reason why I was in this in this movie. And it was a reason why I had to be there [House Party.] What I learned from it was longevity, long longevity, and being a great person can carry you a long way. And I had a personal talk with Eddie. And it was quick and brief that even though I may want to be an actor, and I want to do this and do all that, I need to keep an hour of material in my back pocket.

He continued: “Never leave that stage alone. That’s, that’s the bread and butter. That’s the baby, you know, and you go on forever, always want to do it. Not saying that you may have a time when you don’t want to do it. But there will always be a time that you’re going to want to get back on that stage. And I always keep an eye on my back pocket just because he told me that, and I don’t give a damn what I do. I’m gonna keep an hour in my backpack.”

“Candy Cane Lane” is available to stream on Prime Video now.

Recently D.C. Young Fly starred in the New Line Cinema film “House Party” and is one-third of the hit podcast “85 South Show,” which just released its first Netflix comedy special, “85 South: Ghetto Legends,” reigning the #1 spot for weeks.
