*Cher’s relationship with her boyfriend Alexander “AE” Edwards has seen its share of ups and downs, yet it still lasts. Even if references from the “Believe” singer go over his head.
“Sometimes I’m talking to him and he has no idea who I’m talking about … The other day, I said, ‘Do you know who, I don’t know, Clark Gable, [is]?’ Somebody said, ‘Yes, of course,’ but most of my references … He’ll look at me and go, ‘I wasn’t born yet,’” Cher told Extra.
The 77-year-old icon’s comments come after she reunited with Edwards in September after some time apart in May, Love B Scott noted. The on-again, off-again duo looked to be solid as Cher gushed about dating her 37-year-old beau, saying, “I hate to talk about how happy I am, but no, we have a great time together.”
“We can talk music. We can talk about everything. He’s got a great sense of humor, he’s got the cutest son in the world, ever … We just get each other,” she said about the guy she calls “a beautiful man.”
“Alexander’s got diamond teeth, tattoos, white hair, and he’s way younger. He’s a beautiful man,” Cher told People, adding that she’s “not surprised” that her relationship with the much younger Def Jam Records vice president of A&R has gotten so much attention. “Also, I think it’s fun to be interested in somebody else’s love life,” she added.
Page Six notes Cher and Edwards, a model and music producer, confirmed their on-again status upon their return to Paris Fashion Week this year. It was at this event the pair discovered their strong connection after meeting “for about 15 minutes” in the fall of 2022.
A mutual friend of the pair had given Edwards Cher’s phone number. The singer was surprised at the “really shocking” action “because people just don’t give out my number.”
“I had been telling all my friends, ‘We’re too old to go out with really younger men, and I will never fall in love on text.’ So I did what I said not to do!,” Cher said. “If you have happiness, you can’t think about how long it’s going to last. You have to think about ‘How does it feel?’ and live in the moment.”
Fans can expect a treat on Cher’s first-ever holiday album, “Christmas,” with Edwards on board to collaborate with the “Strong Enough” vocalist. At this point in her life, Cher “just wants to be happy” amid the reconciliation, a source told Page Six.
If media sources are to be believed, that happiness includes a lot of sex. Confiding to Radar Online, insiders reveal Cher is wearing Edwards out with her untamed sexual appetite, according to Sandra Rose.
Those wanting the tea on the cause of their breakup can blame the “Moonstruck” star’s excessive demands for sex. It’s gotten to the point that Edwards has reached his breaking point, according to an insider.
“AE is frustrated and doesn’t know what to do,” the insider told the National Enquirer. “Every time he wants to get something done in the studio, she’s craving — and demanding — more.”
The situation is noticeable to Edwards’ friends who say he’s too exhausted to hang out with them.
“It’s gotten to be a lot for him and, frankly, a burden for the relationship,” the insider added.
