*It was a valuable birthday gift from a local father to his son for his 13th birthday: 40 acres of San Diego land.
Faheem Muhammed posted about the special gift to his son in a video post that has gone viral — even catching the attention of Diddy.
Muhammed spoke to CBS 8 about the 198 acres he owns, land he purchased in 2021.
“We see clear space, where we can uninterruptedly enjoy nature, especially growing up in a congested city like L.A. when we are out here it’s totally different,” Muhammed said.

Muhammed lives in Los Angeles and runs a real estate business in the South Side of Chicago. Through his company Oasis Investment Group, he teaches people how to become homeowners to improve their living conditions in the city.
“These are people who’ve had families on government assistance for years. And now they’re actually enrolled into courses about how to own their own homes,” Muhammed said.
As a child, Muhammad says he and his siblings learned about property ownership from their mother, Aminah Muhammad. He wants to instill these same values in his children so he gave his son, Faheem, 40 acres of land when he turned 13 on March 16.
“I thought it would be a great opportunity to teach him a life lesson about the land,” Muhammed said.
Muhammed’s family is teaching other kids from Los Angeles these lessons too through their Rites of Passage camps for inner-city kids and the Dior Sunset Foundation.
“We just see an opportunity to enjoy nature in its finest sense. You got fresh water, clear skies at night. You can see all the stars, the moon. The sunrises are beautiful,” Muhammed said.
