*Taping for the 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards took place in Atlanta on Tuesday, October 3rd, as stars from across the country descended upon the green carpet in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop.
Held at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center, the occasion, which will air on Tuesday, October 10th, was a star-studded and fashionable night to remember.
Celebrities such as GloRilla, Sexyy Red, Jadakiss, Rakim, B. Simone, Coi Leray, and Juvenile walked the carpet, while many others appeared for the taping.
For the second year in a row, Fat Joe is the host for the awards show and viewers will enjoy high-energy performances from both legends and members of the new school.
Among this year’s performers are T.I., Nelly, Juvenile, City Girls, Offset, GloRilla, Da Baby and many more. LL Cool J, founder of Rock the Bells, will present the “Rock The Bells Cultural Influence Award” to mega producers and Verzuz co-founders Swizz Beatz and Timbaland. Additionally, he will perform alongside Rakim as they pay homage to Grammy-winning producer and pioneer Marley Marl, who will receive the “I Am Hip Hop Award.”
Jermaine Dupri, Bow Wow, Da Brat, Xscape, and others will be seen in the building as this year also marks the 30th anniversary of the iconic music label, So So Def. Cardi B. and 21 Savage top the list of nominations, followed by others like Drake, DJ Khaled and Burna Boy.
