*Whoopi Goldberg is once again sharing her views about the Holocaust, despite being briefly suspended from ABC’s “The View” earlier this year over her controversial remarks.

In a new interview with the U.K. paper “The Times,” Goldberg is asked about nearly being canceled over her previous remarks and she doubles down by claiming that the Nazis didn’t originally target Jews based on race, Fox News reports

She also notes that Black people were targeted during the Holocaust but unlike the Jews, they could not easily blend in among White people while hiding from the Nazis.

Goldberg told Times columnist Janice Turner, “My best friend said, ‘Not for nothing is there no box on the census for the Jewish race. So that leads me to believe that we’re probably not a race.’”

Turner writes in the column that she informed Goldberg that “Nazis saw Jews as a race.” Whoopi replied, “Yes, but that’s the killer, isn’t it? The oppressor is telling you what you are. Why are you believing them? They’re Nazis. Why believe what they’re saying?”

Turner pushed back with, “But since the Nazis devised racial laws aimed specifically at Jews, wasn’t the Holocaust about race?”

“It wasn’t originally,” Whoopi responds.

As TMZ reports, Goldberg tells the reporter,  “Remember who they were killing first. They were not killing racial; they were killing physical. They were killing people they considered to be mentally defective. And then they made this decision.”

When Turner points out that the Nazis were conducting physical tests on Jews in an effort to weed them out, Whoopi said, “They did that to Black people too. But it doesn’t change the fact that you could not tell a Jew on a street. You could find me. You couldn’t find them. That was the point I was making. But you would have thought that I’d taken a big old stinky dump on the table, butt naked,” she said, referencing the backlash to similar comments she made on The View earlier this year.
