“Love in the Time of Corona” is a two-part limited series that follows for stories of love during the Corona pandemic shelter in place orders.
The series stars Tony® and GRAMMY® Award winner Leslie Odom Jr. (“Hamilton”) as James and his wife Nicolette Robinson (“The Affair”) as Sade. Tommy Dorfman (“13 Reasons Why”) as Oscar, Rainey Qualley (“Mad Men”) as Elle, Gil Bellows (“Patriot”) as Paul, Rya Kihlstedt (“One Mississippi”) as Sarah, Ava Bellows (“This Too Shall Pass”) as Sophie and L. Scott Caldwell (“Lost”) as Nanda.
Filming took place in the actors’ actual homes, and featured real life family members or good friends. The cast was responsible for their own hair, makeup and set design.
L. Scott Caldwell’s story features her as a woman who is physically separated from her husband who is in a nursing home. Their 50th wedding anniversary is approaching and she is determined to share it with him.

Caldwell was quarantining alone at home when she got the call to join the series. The storyline was slightly adjusted. She spoke with EURweb correspondent Jill Munroe about the importance of telling stories for an advanced age group.
“Let’s call my story what it is, it was a senior love story. But, I felt that it was an important aspect of the storytelling to include a story like this. My character is separated from her husband because he is ill and in a nursing facility. That’s a major storytelling piece that’s needed, because we’ve been so devastated by what has occurred in these facilities. Everything that’s happened to the families separated from their loved ones, has been this heartbreaking thing that we’ve been watching from a distance with no way to do anything about it. Being able to tell a story like this, helps us understand what is going on with families that are living that particular drama. And what we do with this part of the story, we offer hope. And that’s major.”
The project also gave actors Gil Bellows and his wife, Rya Kihlstedt the opportunity to appear on screen with their daughter Ava for her first project.
“Love in the Time of Corona” is airing on Freeform.
