*LOS ANGELES, CA – On Saturday, Aug. 24, 2019, over 150 friends, fans and clients of Felicia “The Poetess” Morris helped the widely-adored L.A. radio veteran celebrate her five-year anniversary at Morris Media Studios, the Leimert Park-located podcast space she opened in 2014 for independent internet show hosts who — like Morris — seek to serve loyal audiences.
Guests at the fun-filled day-party reflected the diversity of MMS’ appreciators, ranging from City Council President Herb Wesson, Councilman Marqueece Harris-Dawson, Assemblywoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove and award-winning analyst/commentator Mr. Mo’ Kelly to ex-pimp/preacher Bishop “Magic Don Juan, comedians Hope Flood and Geoff Brown and West Coast hip-hop legends Alonzo Williams and King T.
“This was a heck of a journey,” a thrilled Morris said during one of the live podcasts featuring a mix of MMS podcast hosts and party guests. “I’ve sacrificed a lot. Nights I was hungry. Nights I was sleeping in here, wondering what the hell I [was going to] do. But, five years later, we’re still standing. And I’m looking forward to all of us growing together.”

Also during the celebration, Wesson and Harris-Dawson, representing the 10th and Eighth districts respectively, sat for online chats with Kamlager-Dove and Morris, the trio making presentations of laudatory citations from the City of Los Angeles and the California State Assembly while clearly enjoying their warm welcome at Morris Media Studios.
Party attendees danced to the classics spun by Uncle Jamm’s Army pioneer DJ Silky D, played spades and sipped Earl Stevens Selections wines & Sluricane provided by Bay Area rap icon E-40. Another close Morris friend, Sway Calloway, of “Sway’ In The Morning” and “World Famous Wake Up Show” fame, joined E-40, Harris-Dawson and Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas as sponsors of the MMS anniversary event.
