*CBS News bosses are hoping to use Gayle King to help boost the plunging ratings of “CBS This Morning.”

According to Page Six, the veteran journalist is poised to sign a new multimillion-dollar contract to stay at the network.

King currently has a $5.5 million-a-year deal and the outlet notes that all other negotiations with other anchors  are on hold until King’s deal is signed.

“Everything has gone very quiet. Nothing will be done until Gayle has signed her contract. It looks likely that she’s staying — but we don’t know what the holdup is,” said an insider.

As previously reported, King is renegotiating a multimillion-dollar contract to remain on “CBS This Morning” — and she wants “George Stephanopoulos money” to stay, Page Six reported.

King has one year left on her deal and a source said: “Gayle is holding the show together, she wants George money — he got between $15 and $18 million to stay on at ABC.”

Oprah’s bestie was reportedly ready to leave the network amid the chaos following the firing of Charlie Rose and Les Moonves.

When asked by The Associated Press recently if she plans on staying with CBS News, King replied: “Ooh, that’s a good question. All I can say is I really love my job. And I think it’s kind of foolish to predict the future.”

Her negotiations come as Gayle received wide praise for keeping her cool while interviewing embattled singer R. Kelly. He became unhinged and ranted to the cameras about being innocent of the multiple sexual abuse claims leveled against him.

He faces up to 70 years in prison if found guilty.
