*Talk show legend Wendy Williams recently made a rare public appearance in New Jersey at the Bolingo Balance.
She was seen shopping at the store owned by Victor Bowman, the son of the late herbalist Dr. Sebi. An employee at Bolingo Balance told Page Six that Williams was “sharp, upbeat and aware” and “very bubbly.” She was “engaging but wasn’t as familiar with what we do here, so her son was more explaining things.” Her son, Kevin Hunter Jr., was with her throughout the outing, which comes amid continued concerns about her well-being.
Earlier this year, Williams’ medical care team announced that she was diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia (FTD).
“Wendy is still able to do many things for herself,” the team said, People reports. “Most importantly she maintains her trademark sense of humor and is receiving the care she requires to make sure she is protected and that her needs are addressed. She is appreciative of the many kind thoughts and good wishes being sent her way.”
According to a press release, Williams, 60, was officially diagnosed last year. She has been contending with various other health challenges, including Graves’ disease, lymphedema, and alcohol abuse.

The Mayo Clinic reports that aphasia “typically occurs suddenly after a stroke or a head injury. But it can also come on gradually from a slow-growing brain tumor or a disease that causes progressive, permanent damage (degenerative).”
Per the release, “Aphasia, a condition affecting language and communication abilities, and frontotemporal dementia, a progressive disorder impacting behavior and cognitive functions, have already presented significant hurdles in Wendy’s life.”
Family members previously told People that Williams is “in a wellness, healing type of environment” to address her cognitive issues.
