*Tyson Beckford, the iconic supermodel and actor, is stepping into a new chapter of his life on Bravo’s latest dating venture, “Kings Court,” which premiered on July 13, with episodes streaming the next day on Peacock.
Hosted by Hollywood duo Holly Robinson Peete and Rodney Peete, the show, a spin-off of “Queens Court,” follows Beckford, NBA star Carlos Boozer, and WWE’s Thaddeus “Titus O’Neil” Bullard as they navigate the dating world with 21 accomplished women. Produced by Will Packer and Lighthearted Entertainment, the series promises emotional highs, dramatic lows, and adventurous dates as the men search for their perfect match.
At 54, Beckford reveals a more discerning side, shaped by his past, including a high-profile divorce. Speaking to theGrio before the show’s debut, he shared, “You’re not out there. You’re cool, you’re in your tuxedo, you’re sipping your martini, you’re looking at the scene. No one in particular, just looking at the scene. You want something to catch your eye, that you feel like you’re going to indulge in the scene. But if nothing catches your eye, you’d rather just be that cool dude, you know, in this tuxedo, sipping the martini, minding your business.”
He likened his approach to James Bond, noting, “James Bond didn’t try to holler at everybody. James picked one lady and he was like ‘Bond, James Bond’ and you know when he laid that line down it was going down.” This refined mindset, he says, helps him spot “red flags” and focus on meaningful connections.
On “Kings Court,” Beckford’s maturity sets him apart, though it comes with challenges. “There was a lot of emotion in that house. I felt like, at one point, I was the house counselor,” he said.

His castmate Bullard playfully dubbed him “the Black Hugh Hefner” after finding Beckford poolside in “hoochie daddy” trunks, surrounded by contestants. Beckford laughed it off, insisting he was being a good host.
The show’s vibrant energy and heartfelt moments left a mark on Beckford. “It was so much fun to film this and to do this,” he said. “I would definitely do it again.”
As the kings guide their suitors through thrilling dates and tough eliminations, viewers will see if Beckford’s evolved perspective leads him to his true queen.
