*President Donald Trump has long teased the idea of extending his time in office beyond the constitutionally mandated two terms. But what began as offhand remarks is now morphing into a coordinated messaging campaign among his allies — one that flirts with dismantling presidential term limits altogether.
During a recent Air Force One flight from Malaysia to Japan, Trump was asked whether he’d consider running as vice president in 2028.
“I’d be allowed to do that… but I wouldn’t do that. I think it’s too cute. I think the people wouldn’t like that. It wouldn’t be right,” he said — a response that, while dismissive on the surface, hinted at a legal gray area his inner circle appears eager to exploit. Chief of staff Susie Wiles has said that her boss will not run for a third term.
However, The Slice News has learned that Trump loyalists, led by former White House strategist Steve Bannon, are actively exploring ways to keep him in power indefinitely.
“He’s gonna get a third term,” Bannon declared in a recent interview. “Trump is gonna be president in ’28, and people just ought to get accommodated with that.”
Bannon, a Georgetown-educated political strategist and “War Room” podcast host, is attempting to rewrite constitutional rules to make the Trump presidency permanent. His cockiness is fueling speculation that there is a loophole. The claim that Donald Trump could legally serve a third term despite the 22nd Amendment of the Constitution forbidding it is a form of propaganda, particularly when it’s used to manipulate public perception or sow doubt about constitutional limits.
However, not all Republicans are open to a “Forever Trump” presidency. Reports of internal opposition suggest that not all Trump supporters are confident or perhaps comfortable with pursuing a loophole strategy to maintain power.
The rhetoric has alarmed constitutional scholars and political observers, who warn that such claims — though legally baseless under the 22nd Amendment — are part of a broader propaganda strategy aimed at normalizing the idea of not only a permanent office but also sovereign reign.
Bannon has been spreading the message about the goal to keep Trump in office. At the 2025 Bellator Awards, he gave an ominous warning related to sustaining MAGA control, saying, “As God is my witness, if we lose the midterms and 2028, some of us are going to prison.”
Bannon is peddling a type of propaganda that is not backed by facts but appeals to political passions.
