*The Minions are causing chaos again — and this time, they have monsters to deal with.
Illumination has unveiled a new trailer for “Minions & Monsters,” the latest entry in the “Despicable Me” universe and the next chapter in the biggest animated franchise in history. Building on the massive success of 2024’s “Despicable Me 4,” the upcoming film introduces an entirely new set of characters while bringing back the beloved yellow troublemakers fans have followed for over a decade.
The story follows the Minions as they storm Hollywood, achieve movie stardom, and then spectacularly lose it all — accidentally unleashing monsters on the world in the process and scrambling to fix the mayhem they created.

The voice cast is nothing short of stacked. Academy Award winners Allison Janney, Christoph Waltz, and Jeff Bridges lead the ensemble, joined by two-time Oscar nominee Jesse Eisenberg, Zoey Deutch, and Oscar nominee Trey Parker, the boundary-pushing comedy legend behind “South Park.” Rounding out the cast are Bobby Moynihan, known for his years on “Saturday Night Live,” and Phil LaMarr of “Futurama” and “King of the Hill.”
Behind the camera, Pierre Coffin returns to direct, having helmed the first three “Despicable Me” films and the original “Minions.” Coffin, who has voiced the Minions since their 2010 debut, co-wrote the screenplay alongside Brian Lynch, the writer behind “Minions” and the “Secret Life of Pets” films. Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri produces alongside Bill Ryan, with Lynch also serving as executive producer.
Since their introduction more than a decade ago, the Minions have grown into one of the most recognizable animated characters across generations, helping drive the franchise to over $5.6 billion at the global box office.
“Minions & Monsters” is set to continue that legacy — one monster-fueled disaster at a time. Watch the new trailer above.
