While clarifying that the guard was employed by an outside vendor, the Academy made its position clear, stating such behavior is “not acceptable.” They thanked Taylor for her “remarkable grace” and confirmed they were taking measures to prevent a recurrence.
The security firm, SIS, also responded, acknowledging the incident. In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, they expressed regret that the situation escalated, attributing it to “incidental contact” during a crowded moment. They admitted that the interaction “did not meet the standards of professionalism we expect from our team” and that the matter had been addressed internally.
Later that night, Taylor spoke with TMZ, downplaying the drama while standing her ground.
“Everybody’s having a good time, and you know, security was just doing a lot,” she said. “I’m proud, I’m happy… at the end of the day, I just don’t tolerate disrespect — especially when it’s unwarranted and unprovoked.”
