*Terrell Owens may not be active on the NFL roster anymore, but his time in seemingly came with an ability to sniff out hints of games slanted in favor of one team over another.
To hear him tell it, the Kansas City Chiefs and its star quarterback Patrick Mahomes have traveled a rigged road of games to get to where they are now, a spot at Super Bowl LIX, playing against the Philadelphia Eagles. All courtesy of the NFL, which Owens accused of fixing games to benefit the Chiefs in their quest for the big game.
“It’s blatant and obvious… And I never thought I would say games are rigged… It’s unreal the amount of calls the Chiefs get,” the former wide receiver said while referencing multiple AFC championship appearances that resulted in the Chiefs winning close games often.
Continuing his point, Owens shined a light on last season’s Super Bowl loss by the San Francisco 49ers in a game he felt had questionable officiating.
“Even when the Niners played in the Super Bowl, look at all the holding calls. If you watched the tape, it was cracked,” T.O. pointed out. The athlete further claimed that the Chiefs benefited from penalties that were deliberately ignored. “They were getting clotheslined and they were not calling it. It was blatant, blatant calls that were obvious.”

Owens’ game-rigging claims against the Chiefs come before this year’s Super Bowl, which will take place Feb. 9 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. All eyes will be on Mahomes to see if he can lead his team to a historic three-peat with a win over the Eagles.
With years under his belt in the NFL, Owens, who has never won a Super Bowl ring in his 15 season-stint, reflected on his 1996 debut with the 49ers to put weight on his accusations.
“I played the game and I’m watching the game, and I’m looking at all these calls—they’re just benefiting the Kansas City Chiefs,” Owens remarked.
Despite his bold claims, BolaVIP acknowledged no mention of Owens’ accusations against the league and the Chiefs about other teams benefitting from referee errors during the regular season. These missed penalties often go uncorrected, affecting the outcome of games.
