*Takeoff’s parents are fighting over settlement money connected to the late rapper’s wrongful death case.
Court documents obtained by TMZ show that Titania Davenport and Kenneth Ball disagree over both the money and which court should handle the dispute. Davenport, Takeoff’s mother, filed the wrongful death lawsuit in Texas after the rapper died in 2022 at age 28.
Takeoff died when a shooting broke out outside a Houston-area bowling alley while he was with his uncle and fellow Migos member Quavo. The wrongful death case has since been settled, but the parties now disagree over how the proceeds should be divided.

Davenport argues that the court should consider the nature of her relationship with Takeoff when determining how to distribute the funds. In her filing, she described their bond as “close, loving and nurturing” and said she raised him as a single parent.
She also stated that she provided nearly all of Takeoff’s financial support as he pursued a music career. After he became successful, Davenport claimed he covered “most if not all of her expenses.”
Davenport offered a sharply different account of Ball’s involvement in Takeoff’s life. She alleged that he provided “negligible financial support and effectively no emotional support to his son.” She also claimed that Takeoff did not financially support his father.
Ball argues that he should receive half of the settlement proceeds despite Davenport’s claims about his absence. He also wants a Texas court to decide how to divide the funds.
Davenport wants Georgia, where the probate case was filed, to oversee the dispute. She argues that Georgia is now the appropriate venue because the Texas wrongful death case has settled.
The judge has not yet ruled.
