*As I spearhead the gathering of Black-owned businesses nationwide, I am thrilled to unveil the largest Black cultural event in Southern California—the Black Writers On Tour + Business + Tech Expo. This one-day powerhouse event, scheduled for Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M., is set to redefine “THE NEW WAY OF DOING BUSINESS IN THE AI (Artificial Intelligence) Era.” Admission, parking, and seminars are FREE.
We are witnessing an unprecedented assault on Black history—an aggressive, deliberate effort to erase our contributions, silence our stories, and distort our legacy. At the same time, Black business ownership and homeownership are plummeting at alarming rates, threatening the very foundation of generational wealth in our communities. But most devastating of all is the rising tide of hopelessness among our youth—our future. Never have so many of our young people felt so unseen, unheard, and uninspired. This is a clarion call: We must act with urgency and intention to restore hope, instill purpose, and ignite the fire of possibility within them. Their future—and ours—depends on it.
The Time Is Now — Black Business Survival Depends on It! In this critical moment of gentrification and economic displacement, Black businesses face an alarming threat of extinction. The urgency to act is not tomorrow—it’s right now. If the United States can build powerful trade relationships with countries like China and beyond, surely Black businesses can and must connect across every state in this nation and beyond its borders. Our very economic survival depends on it.
Black Writers On Tour (BWOT) Expo is more than just an event—it’s a movement. Throughout the day, you’ll have access to powerful seminars and workshops focused on “Doing Business While Black” and “Black Businesses Matter, Too.” We’re not just talking—we’re equipping Black authors and entrepreneurs with real tools, real strategies, and real opportunities to scale, collaborate, and thrive. Literary talent matters. The power of storytelling, especially within marginalized communities, is immeasurable. Omitting books on Black history from schools and libraries should inspire Black Americans to write their narratives. Literacy and writing are crucial for preserving Black culture and history, not just for Black people but everyone. It’s about ensuring their stories are not erased or misrepresented and asserting their historical place.
