*Hip-hop legend Rob Base joins forces with rising genre filmmaker Lynette J. Blackwell to bring audiences Urban Flesh Eaters, a chilling and emotionally resonant zombie survival thriller.
Executive produced by Rob Base and co-written by Blackwell, the film stars Chantal Maurice, Maurice P. Kerry, Ashley René Forrestier, and Jason Louder.
The story follows Cyn (Chantal Maurice, “Tyler Perry’s Divorced Sistas,” “Wicked City,” “Grey’s Anatomy”), a devoted nurse and grieving mother trapped in a high-rise apartment during a violent zombie outbreak, fighting to reunite with her children.
Maurice delivers a visceral, heart-wrenching performance alongside Maurice P. Kerry (“Beyond the Gates,” “Law & Order: Organized Crime”) as Blaze, a PTSD-stricken Marine whose reluctant heroism becomes vital to Cyn’s survival.
“For me, storytelling has always been about connection—music or film, it’s about how people feel and survive. Urban Flesh Eaters is raw, emotional, and terrifying, but at its core it’s about family and resilience. That’s why I wanted to bring my voice into this film,” says Rob Base.
Set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video, September 23rd just in time for the Halloween season, Urban Flesh Eaters fuses parental devotion, grief, and community survival with the relentless tension of a zombie thriller.

This marks Rob Base’s first feature film as Executive Producer, where he also contributes to the film’s brooding original score.
A longtime fan of the genre, Rob considers himself a zombie aficionado, citing Night of the Living Dead as his favorite zombie film.
Rob Base’s collaboration with Blackwell began with the acclaimed short Twelve and the hit stage production Who’s This Sleeping in My Bed?, now expanding into horror with a story that blends emotional grit and supernatural urgency.
Directed by Eric Dodson (“Top Shorts,” “IndieX”), the film also features Ashley René Forrestier, Jason Louder (“BMF”), and a breakout ensemble of rising talent.
Urban Flesh Eaters aims to elevate the zombie genre through intimacy, representation, and deeply human stakes.
“With Urban Flesh Eaters, I wanted to explore horror through a deeply human lens, showing how love, grief, and resilience can drive people to survive even the most terrifying circumstances. Partnering with Rob Base allows us to blend music, culture, and suspense in a way that is fresh, emotional, and unforgettable,” says Lynette J. Blackwell, co-writer and executive producer.
