*Coco Austin recently unveiled a vibrant change in her daughter Chanel’s appearance, showcasing bright blue streaks woven into her brunette locks.
“Had some fun with Chanel’s hair recently,” she captioned an Aug. 25 Instagram post. “She’s been feeling the color blue lately, so I finally gave in.”
While Chanel’s hair adventure mirrors her mother Coco’s experimental style, her facial features echo her father, Ice-T. The hip-hop icon shared a heartwarming photo with Chanel in January, noting their close bond. “At some point,” he wrote on X, “you realize there’s someone watching every move you make.”
Despite their similar looks, Ice-T acknowledges that Chanel sometimes resists the comparisons. “I think she kind of gets irritated with people telling her she looks like her dad instead of her mom,” the 67-year-old shared with TODAY in 2023. “But if you look at any old pictures of Coco, there’s similarities there. I wouldn’t want her to keep looking like her dad. She’s finding herself.”

Meanwhile, Ice-T previously shared insights about his close bond with his daughter in a May 2023 interview on the “That Moment with Daymond John” iHeartPodcast. The “Law & Order: SVU” star, born Tracy Lauren Marrow, explained that his connection with Chanel is deeper than with his older children, LeTesha Marrow, 49, and Tracy Marrow Jr., 33, from previous relationships. Ice-T admitted that during his early music career, he was often absent, prioritizing “presents over presence” due to fame and distractions, particularly when his son was born as his career took off.
Now in a more settled phase of life, Ice-T described himself as “comfortable” and in a “cruise pattern,” allowing him to be more present for Chanel. He was actively involved during Coco’s pregnancy and remains closely connected, noting that Chanel still sleeps in their bed. “I’m so much more connected to her than my other kids … it’s been a beautiful thing,” he said.
Ice-T also shared with PEOPLE that raising Chanel has given him a new purpose, saying it “made me want to live forever” and describing her as “the best gift I could ever get.”
