*Quinton Aaron is currently fighting for his life after a medical emergency led to his hospitalization and placement on life support.
According to reports, the actor, widely recognized for his role in “The Blind Side,” was rushed to the hospital after experiencing intense neck pain that prompted his wife, Margarita Aaron, to call 911. Aaron was intubated on Friday after doctors identified a severe blood infection that affected his breathing.
“After the 911 call, we went to the hospital and the doctors determined to put him on an endotracheal tube because his breathing was a little sporadic,” his wife explained. Medical teams are continuing to run tests, as the source of the infection has not yet been determined.
Doctors have described Aaron’s condition as “day by day,” though Margarita remains hopeful. She shared that he is receiving broad-spectrum antibiotics while doctors work to pinpoint the cause. “He’s still on antibiotics, blanket antibiotics to just cover whatever the issue might be about his blood,” she said.
There have been encouraging signs in recent days. Margarita noted that Aaron has shown small but meaningful improvements, including moving his fingers and attempting to open his eyes. “Although he seemed like he was a little lucid, he was not very responsive,” she said.
Aaron is also beginning to breathe partially on his own, which doctors see as a positive development. “He’s doing some of the work as well, which is also promising,” Margarita shared. A bioluminescent MRI is planned to provide more clarity on his condition.
The health scare follows Aaron’s previous revelation about a near-death experience that prompted him to make significant lifestyle changes. In October, he recalled collapsing near a waterfront during the COVID era and waking up underwater after falling into shallow water. “I literally woke up underwater,” he said.
Doctors later discovered a severe toe infection that had spread to the bone and believed the incident may have been caused by diabetic ketoacidosis. Aaron was hospitalized for weeks and narrowly avoided losing his toe.
“He’s a fighter; he’s a very strong fighter,” Margarita said. “He is making progress day by day, and I believe God’s got him.”
