Vanessa from Virginia walked away with $240,150 in cash and prizes after competing in the Lion’s Share game during a Friday episode, EW reports. The total marks the highest amount ever won in one pricing game across the show’s 54-year run.
The episode featured the game Lion’s Share, where contestants guess grocery item prices to earn opportunities for prize balls. Those balls are then dropped into a wind tunnel, revealing hidden cash amounts that can dramatically increase winnings.
Hosted by Drew Carey, the game also forces contestants to make a key decision: walk away with their current total or risk it for a chance at larger payouts.
Vanessa chose to continue playing, correctly guessing enough items to steadily increase her prize total. Her winnings eventually reached $227,500 in cash alone, before a luxury trip to Morocco valued at $12,650 pushed her final total to $240,150.
The previous record for a single pricing game stood at $210,000, set in 2016 by contestant Christen Freeman during Cliffhangers.
“From ‘Come on Down’ to playing ‘The Lion’s Share,’ it all felt so surreal – a dream moment that only kept getting bigger,” Vanesa said in a statement supplied by BetMGM and “The Price is Right” producer Fremantle. “I was nervous, excited and everything at once. Winning over $200,000 is life changing. I plan to invest wisely, enjoy a little and treat my mom to a special surprise,” said Vanesa.
While Vanessa now holds the record for the largest single-game haul, it is not the highest total winnings in a single episode. That distinction belongs to a 2019 contestant who accumulated $262,743 across multiple games.
“The Price Is Right” airs weekdays on CBS and streams on Paramount+.
