*A new episode of the E! docuseries “Dirty Rotten Scandals” revisits claims that “The Price Is Right” maintained a hostile work environment during Bob Barker’s decades-long tenure.
Former models and staff allege discrimination, harassment, and retaliation behind the scenes, contrasting sharply with the show’s polished, family-friendly image. Per THR, Kathleen Bradley, the first full-time Black model on the show, described experiencing hostility from both fans and production staff, claiming racial slurs were used in meetings when she was not present.
Claudia Jordan, who joined later, said producers limited the number of Black contestants per taping and reinforced racial stereotypes in how she was presented. “That was a direct order from Bob Barker,” she says in the clip.
Bob Barker being a racist is not shocking.
Bob Barker being a racist is not funny.
Racism is not funny…
But every part of this clip right here (ESPECIALLY the end) has had me laughing for 5 minutes!!!!!! pic.twitter.com/A2mixWtSAZ— I’m named after El Debarge (@hydrothemc) March 26, 2026
Holly Hallstrom, who spent nearly 20 years on the show, alleged that Barker retaliated against her after she declined to take his side in a sexual harassment case brought by Dian Parkinson. She painted him as “cruel and viciously vindictive” toward employees who pushed back against him, and recalled a remark he made expressing discomfort with interracial relationships.
Barker maintained his innocence throughout the years before his death in 2023 at age 99. His representative continues to defend his legacy, highlighting his television career and decades of animal advocacy, which earned recognition from PETA.
“The Price Is Right” airs weekdays on CBS with Drew Carey as host.
