*Newly filed legal documents paint a detailed picture of how Michael Jackson’s estate distributed funds to his family in 2022, with millions flowing to his three children and his mother across a range of personal expenses.
TMZ obtained the 2022 accounting report, which was submitted by estate executors John Branca and John McClain. The pair characterized the year as “another banner year for the estate,” with the Broadway opening of “MJ: The Musical” standing out as a marquee moment. The production generated substantial income. Branca and McClain noted that since Jackson passed away in 2009, the estate has accumulated earnings in excess of $3 billion.
Among the children, Paris received the largest financial outlay — approximately $3.2 million in benefits. Prince’s expenses for the year came to $3.1 million, including $25,000 in tuition payments to Loyola Marymount University. Bigi (also known as Blanket) had $939,000 in costs covered over the same stretch. Katherine Jackson, the pop star’s mother, received around $1.6 million to cover her personal living costs throughout the year.

The estate’s income side also drew attention in the filing. More than $800,000 came in through royalties and residuals connected to assorted Jackson projects during 2022 — though the executors were clear that this represented just a slice of the estate’s overall haul for the year.
Taken together, the records underscore how the estate, now more than 15 years removed from Jackson’s death, continues to generate significant revenue while remaining closely involved in the financial lives of his family.
Meanwhile, the highly anticipated Michael Jackson biopic is coming to theaters on April 24, chronicling the extraordinary life and career of one of the most influential artists in history.
Directed by Antoine Fuqua, “MICHAEL” follows MJ’s journey from his early days as the lead of the Jackson Five to his emergence as a global superstar. The film offers a sweeping look at both his personal life and iconic performances, giving audiences a front-row seat to the man behind the music.
