*The countdown to the 2025 Met Gala has begun, and fashion’s most celebrated night is poised to once again dazzle on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art this Monday, May 5.
This year’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” promises a striking showcase of sartorial excellence inspired by Black culture and fashion. Drawing influence from Monica L. Miller’s groundbreaking work, Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity, the event will highlight how tailoring and self-expression intersect in Black communities. The official dress code, “Tailored for You,” encourages bold interpretations of menswear and personalized elegance.
As always, Anna Wintour will helm the gala’s proceedings, joined by a high-profile group of co-chairs: actor Colman Domingo, F1 driver Lewis Hamilton, hip-hop artist A$AP Rocky, and music icon Pharrell Williams. NBA legend LeBron James will serve as an honorary chair, underscoring the gala’s growing embrace of athletic influence within the fashion world.
Page Six reports that a dazzling guest list is expected, with music royalty like Madonna, Stevie Wonder, and Diana Ross all set to attend. Ross will be joined by her children—actress Tracee Ellis Ross and musician Evan Ross—adding a touch of family glamour to the affair. Lauryn Hill is also slated to appear, reportedly invited personally by co-chair Pharrell Williams.
This year’s roster of attendees includes a mix of music’s freshest faces and established icons. Lorde, fresh off the release of her latest single “What Was That,” will walk the red carpet alongside Bebe Rexha and breakout star Shaboozey, whose hit “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” has dominated charts. Legends like Mary J. Blige, Shakira, Lizzo, and Doechii are also expected to make their presence known.

Hollywood will be well represented, too. Angela Bassett and Demi Moore will lend their star power to the night, joined by “Succession” standout Sarah Snook—currently starring in a Broadway production of Dorian Gray—and “White Lotus” actor Walton Goggins. Broadway stars Nick Jonas and Adrienne Warren, co-stars in The Last Five Years, will also hit the red carpet.
On the comedy and TV front, Chris Rock and Jimmy Fallon are confirmed, while Saturday Night Live cast member Ego Nwodim will be reporting live from the scene for Vogue. “Severance” star Adam Scott and “Stranger Things” actor Caleb McLaughlin round out the notable names from television.
This year’s invite list also includes a notable athlete presence. Rising college basketball star Paige Bueckers and Olympic fencer Miles Chamley-Watson will be in attendance, emphasizing the expanding reach of the gala beyond the entertainment industry.
Coverage of the event begins at 6 p.m. ET on Live From E!: Met Gala 2025, with streaming available via Peacock, E! Online, YouTube, and across major social platforms. Hosted by Erin Lim Rhodes and Lonnie Marts, the broadcast will deliver a front-row look at every bold fashion statement and unforgettable entrance.
As the fashion world eagerly anticipates what promises to be a landmark evening, one thing is certain: the 2025 Met Gala is set to celebrate not just style, but the rich cultural narratives that shape it.
