*The 2025 Met Gala is fast approaching, ready to turn the steps of New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art into fashion’s most iconic red carpet on Monday, May 5. With the theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” this year’s event will highlight the elegance and influence of Black fashion, drawing heavily from Monica L. Miller’s acclaimed book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity, E! News reports.
The accompanying dress code, “Tailored for You,” is expected to inspire an array of custom suiting and menswear-inspired ensembles, pushing the boundaries of formalwear through the lens of Black cultural expression and innovation.
Who’s Hosting and How to Watch
The gala will once again be led by Vogue’s Anna Wintour, joined this year by co-chairs Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, and Pharrell Williams. NBA superstar LeBron James has also signed on as an honorary chair.
