*Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are preparing for a longer stay in Britain, while a separate report has raised questions about the Duchess of Sussex’s potential return to acting in the U.K.
The couple’s representative confirmed that they plan to spend an extended period in Britain this fall. The Sussexes will keep their Montecito home and continue operating their businesses from the United States.
“On the heels of a wonderful trip with family and friends this summer, Harry and Meghan have decided to spend an extended period in the U.K. this autumn,” their representative said, ELLE reports. “They are excited to have their children spend more time in the country that’s such an important part of their family’s story.”
Their children, Archie and Lilibet, are expected to attend school in Britain beginning in September. Sources said the family’s plans were finalized only after learning whether the children had been accepted to a private school.

The length of the stay has not been determined. Sources close to the couple indicated it could last six months, a year or even longer, but there are currently no plans for the family to permanently relocate from California.
The return would also put Harry and Meghan closer to King Charles III, who is battling cancer. The couple is not expected to resume royal duties and will continue their lives as private members of the royal family.
Meanwhile, Meghan’s reported acting plans in Britain have taken a turn. She was reportedly in advanced discussions for a role in Season 3 of Guy Ritchie’s “The Gentlemen,” but Tina Brown reported on Substack that the casting had been withdrawn following strong backlash in the U.K.
Brown wrote that the reaction had made the proposed casting “untenable” and said the development “does not bode well for Meghan’s acting comeback in the UK.”
