Their holiday plans unravel when a mysterious figure from Dan’s past, portrayed by Kit Harington, appears with unresolved business that propels the family into an international chase.
What begins as a festive getaway quickly turns into a whirlwind of “bank heists, holiday hijinks, and car chases amid scenic European terrain.” Check out the trailer above.
The sequel is an Apple Original Film from Skydance Media, directed and executive produced by Simon Cellan Jones and written and executive produced by David Coggeshall. The producing team includes David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger for Skydance, with Wahlberg and Stephen Levinson representing Municipal Pictures, joined by John G. Scotti.
The cast also features Zoe Colletti, Van Crosby, Kit Harington, Peter Lindsey, Theodore Lindsey, and Reda Elazouar. Simon Cellan Jones, who helmed the first film, returns as director, with David Coggeshall once again handling the script.
The original “The Family Plan,” released on Apple TV+ in December 2023, introduced audiences to Wahlberg’s Dan—a suburban car salesman whose hidden past as a government assassin forces him and his unsuspecting family on the run. Although the film received mixed reviews, it became one of the most-viewed titles on the streaming platform for a time. With “The Family Plan 2,” the story expands beyond suburbia, promising more action, family friction, and globe-trotting escapades.
