*The first official trailer for “Lee Cronin’s The Mummy” has arrived, offering a glimpse at a reimagined take on one of horror’s most enduring legends.
Released by Warner Bros. Pictures, the preview signals a stark new vision from writer-director Lee Cronin following the commercial success of “Evil Dead Rise.” This latest interpretation centers on a journalist’s family shattered by tragedy when their young daughter disappears in the desert, per the synopsis. Eight years later, her sudden return transforms what should be a moment of relief into a terrifying ordeal, shifting the focus of resurrection mythology into an intimate story of loss and unease.
Leading the cast are Jack Reynor and Laia Costa, joined by May Calamawy, Natalie Grace, and Veronica Falcón. Cronin wrote and directed the film, with production overseen by James Wan, Jason Blum, and John Keville. Executive producers include Michael Clear, Judson Scott, Macdara Kelleher, and Cronin.

Behind the scenes, director of photography Dave Garbett, production designer Nick Bassett, editor Bryan Shaw, and costume designer Joanna Eatwell shape the film’s visual identity, while Stephen McKeon provides the score. Casting directors Terri Taylor and Sarah Domeier Lindo round out the creative team.
The film is presented by New Line Cinema, Atomic Monster, and Blumhouse under the Wicked/Good Production banner. “Lee Cronin’s The Mummy” will open exclusively in theaters and IMAX in North America on April 17, 2026, with international releases beginning April 15, 2026. Watch the trailer above.
