*A gripping new documentary, “In Whose Name?,” offers an unfiltered look at the unraveling of Kanye West’s marriage to Kim Kardashian and his changing behavior and medication struggles.
The trailer captures a tearful Kardashian confronting West, saying, “Your personality was not like this a few years ago.” The film, directed by Nicolas Ballesteros, draws from six years of intimate footage, documenting West’s tumultuous journey.
The project highlights West’s decision to stop taking medication for his bipolar disorder, which he later claimed was misdiagnosed as autism. “I’m off my meds for five months now,” he declares, later adding, “I would rather be dead than be on medication.”
In a heated exchange, West snaps at Kardashian, “Never tell me I’m gonna wake up one day and have nothing!” to which she responds, “We can talk about that later, but,” before he cuts her off, saying, “It ain’t no but!”

Scenes also depict West’s 2020 presidential campaign and emotional moments from his 2019 Sunday Service events, where he is seen crying. The trailer closes with West reflecting, “You know the best thing about being an artist and bipolar? Anything you do and say is an art piece.”
Set for release on September 19, in approximately 1,000 theaters through AMSI Entertainment, AMC, Regal, and Cinemark, the documentary captures West’s polarizing persona. Kardashian and West, married from 2014 until their divorce in November 2022, share four children: North, 12, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 6.
West discussed his autism diagnosis on the “Download” podcast, crediting his wife, Bianca Censori, for recognizing, “Something about your personality doesn’t feel like it’s bipolar, I’ve seen bipolar before.”
