*Kandi Burruss is in legal hot water over her Atlanta restaurant, Blaze Steak & Seafood, as her landlord is suing for more than $150,000 in unpaid rent.
According to court documents, Montego Pacific Inc., the owner of the property, has filed a lawsuit in Fulton County State Court, claiming the restaurant owes $154,139.17 in overdue payments, WSB-TV reports.
The landlord is also seeking an additional $56,495.75 for maintenance costs and other expenses they say have gone unpaid. On top of that, the lawsuit alleges Burruss has violated her lease agreement, and as a result, she faces a monthly interest charge of $12,083.50 until the outstanding balance is settled.
The legal filing gives Burruss just 10 days to address the debt or risk further consequences, which could include eviction or additional penalties.
Blaze Steak & Seafood, which Burruss co-owns with her husband, Todd Tucker, opened in 2020 and has faced numerous challenges. In 2021, it temporarily shut down due to health code violations. While it later improved its health rating, scoring a 93 in late 2023, this new legal battle could negatively impact its reputation.
