*Kamryn Smith is back as Kammy Kam in season two of “YO GABBA GABBALAND!,” stepping into the spotlight as the energetic leader of the beloved franchise.
Inspired by the original “Yo Gabba Gabba!,” the ten-episode season brings together familiar characters and new musical collaborators to help kids and families learn through music, movement, and joyful discovery. The new season debuted on Apple TV on January 30.
Reflecting on taking on the central role, Smith shared what it has meant to her personally. “It’s been so fun stepping into the role of Kammy Kam because I feel like she’s big sister and mother-like to all the characters. It’s been so much fun and I can’t wait to be a big sister and a mother to all of the children that are watching it and adults.”
Season two reunites the original performers Brobee (Amos Watene), Foofa (Emma Penrose), Muno (Adam Deibert), Toodee (Erin Pearce), and Plex (Christian Jacobs), while also welcoming an impressive lineup of musical guests. The Super Music Friends and special guests include acclaimed and Grammy-winning artists such as Santigold, Ziggy Marley, Sharon Van Etten, Sleigh Bells, Yola, Still Woozy, Silversun Pickups, Chicano Batman, The Aquabats!, and Hemlocke Springs.
When asked which musical collaborators stood out most to her, Smith didn’t hesitate to name a favorite. “Oh, that’s such a hard question because I have so many favorites, but I would say probably like Ziggy Marley and the Aquabats. That was really fun for me. Ziggy Marley, he’s such a great person. He’s so sweet and his song, when I tell you his song is so good.”
The series also continues to bridge generations, welcoming longtime fans while introducing a new audience to Gabba Land. “Fans who grew up with the original show, it’s a new host. So I bet it’s a little different for them. But kids who are discovering it for the first time, I feel like it’s just so exciting. It’s something brand new,” Smith said.
She went on to describe the show as a fresh beginning that still honors what came before. “I feel like people that have already watched it, they kind of know the gist of it. I feel it’s a whole new world. It’s a new world for people. But for people that are just watching it, it’s a whole new world too. But it’s like a a new start. And I think it’s so fun.”

At its core, season two continues the franchise’s tradition of sharing meaningful lessons with young viewers. When asked about the message she hopes kids take away, Smith emphasized perseverance. “Whatever you think you can’t do, always try it because it may happen… You never know what can happen.”
Smith also hopes audiences feel immersed in the experience of Gabba Land itself. “I hope they take away so much fun and excitement. But of course, I hope they take away all the magic …I love when I can watch a show and feel like I’m actually in it,” she said.
She added that sense of connection is central to the show’s appeal. “I hope people take away them feeling like they’re actually in Gabba Land and they’re actually on all the journeys with us. Because that’s so fun for people to view. I think it’ll be so exciting if people actually feel that.”
Working alongside the original cast has also shaped Smith’s approach on set. “I always learn so much… everyone on set is so silly,” she shared. “When I first came in, I thought I had to be serious.”
She credits the cast with teaching her to embrace joy in the process. “I feel like when you’re on there, giggle, have fun, laugh, do everything. And now that saw everyone doing it, I always do it now and have fun… you don’t have to take anything serious and be so strict on yourself, just have fun.”
Created by Emmy Award-nominated Scott Schultz and Christian Jacobs, “Yo Gabba GabbaLand” is produced in partnership with WildBrain and Yo Gabba Gabba, LLC. Season one was recently nominated for a 2026 Children’s & Family Emmy Award, and season two builds on that momentum with new guest stars including Billy Eichner, Tiffany Haddish, David Arquette, Brendan Hunt, Jaime Camil, and more.
