*If you’re going to get arrested for DWI in the Hamptons, you might as well make it a production. Luckily for us—and unluckily for Justin Timberlake—the Sag Harbor Police Department has finally released the body camera footage from the pop star’s infamous June 2024 traffic stop, and it’s the most entertainingly awkward thing to happen to the former *NSYNC frontman since he brought “ramen hair” back.
The video, released to media outlets, begins with a police officer pulling Timberlake over for the cardinal sins of veering left and ignoring a stop sign.
“I’m on a World Tour. I’m Justin Timberlake.”
When the officer approaches, Timberlake immediately plays his one and only card: fame.
“I’m on a world tour,” Timberlake announces, presumably hoping the rule of law bows to concert schedules.
In case the officer missed the memo, he doubles down with the clarifying statement, “I’m Justin Timberlake.”
Spoiler alert: The officer was not impressed by the discography.

Refusing the Breath Test: A Choice
What follows is a masterclass in how a night can go from “World Tour” to “Back of a Squad Car.” Timberlake refuses a breath test—a decision that, predictably, does not improve his situation—and proceeds to fail a series of standardized field sobriety tests that likely won’t make the cut for his next tour interlude.
“You Love ‘Bye Bye Bye’—One Favor”
But the true scene-stealer isn’t JT. It’s his friend, an unnamed woman who appears to believe that police procedure operates on a jukebox system.
As officers move to cuff the “Cry Me a River” singer, she unleashes the most desperate Hail Mary in legal history.
“Stop it! No way! Don’t say it!” she pleads, before pivoting to what she clearly thought was a winning argument: “You love ‘Bye Bye Bye,’ you’re on ‘SexyBack’—one favor.”
That’s right. She tried to trade *NSYNC nostalgia and a mid-2000s club banger for a Get Out of Jail Free card. The officers, displaying the stoic resolve of men who have heard every excuse in the book, declined.

From Squad Car to Plea Deal
Timberlake was processed, later pleading guilty to a reduced charge of driving while impaired, resulting in a fine and community service.
Earlier this month, Timberlake’s lawyers tried to block the release of this very footage, citing an “acutely vulnerable state.” But thanks to a redacted version released via agreement, we can all witness the moment a world tour came to a screeching halt at a stop sign.
The only thing missing? A breathalyzer result. But hey, that’s what friends are for—to ask the cops if they like your greatest hits while you’re being handcuffed.
