*Actress Jodie Turner-Smith and actor Joshua Jackson are currently embroiled in a contentious legal battle as their divorce proceedings take a turn for the worse.
According to new legal documents obtained by TMZ, Turner-Smith and her attorney, renowned divorce attorney Laura Wasser, have filed a request for the court to compel Jackson to begin making monthly support payments during the ongoing divorce process.
Turner-Smith is seeking $8,543 per month for child support for their four-year-old daughter, Juno, as well as $28,641 per month in spousal support.
Initially, when Turner-Smith filed for divorce in October 2023, she opted to block the court from awarding spousal support to either party. However, circumstances have changed, and she now claims that Jackson’s actions have necessitated this request.
The actress asserts that she has been attempting to maintain an amicable separation, but alleges that Jackson is intentionally prolonging the process, leading to escalated legal fees. This situation is making it increasingly challenging for her to provide for herself and their daughter.

In her legal filings, Turner-Smith highlighted that Jackson had a more substantial income during their marriage and emphasized a promise he made to her—to always support her and ensure financial stability for their daughter, especially considering the unique challenges she faces as a Black woman and single mother. She accuses Jackson of reneging on this promise and attempting to push her into an unfair settlement.
In addition to child and spousal support, Turner-Smith also requests that the court order Jackson to pay $250,000 to cover her attorney fees and forensic accounting costs.
Turner-Smith and Jackson were married in December 2019 and welcomed their daughter in April 2020. Turner-Smith filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences, and the couple has since agreed to joint custody of Juno.
Beyond the turbulence of their divorce, Turner-Smith is making waves in her acting career. She recently starred in the Apple TV+ series “Bad Monkey” and the political spy thriller “The Agency,” where she played a complex role opposite Michael Fassbender. Her upcoming participation in the highly anticipated Star Wars Disney+ series “The Acolyte” further cements her place as an influential figure in contemporary cinema.
As the divorce proceedings unfold, it remains to be seen how Turner-Smith and Jackson’s financial and personal issues will be resolved. Their situation reminds us of the often challenging dynamics that can arise during high-profile separations, particularly when children and financial security are involved.
