*Rapper and actor Ice-T was involved in a heated roadside encounter with a New Jersey police officer in May, but the footage has only now been made public.
The newly released police body cam footage from 2024 shows the “Law & Order: SVU” actor in a tense confrontation with a cop after being pulled over. The footage, uploaded to X (formerly Twitter), shows Ice-T explaining that he was on his way to the DMV when questioned about his car’s expired registration.
“That’s why I’m trying to get this car set up. Yesterday, I went to the DMV, and they said that their system was down, so that’s where I’m headed,” Ice-T explained, but the officer wasn’t having it, especially when he learned Ice’s driver’s license was also expired. That’s when the cop said he would be towing the vehicle.
“You’re not gonna tow my f—king vehicle,” Ice-T fired back before asking if he could leave the car parked and walk to the nearby DMV, but the officer denied his request.
“Let me park my car right here. If I’m not under arrest then I’m getting out of the car,” he said.

The video shows Ice-T getting out of his car and walking up to the officer while demanding his paperwork.
“Give me my paperwork you f—king a—hole…Get this on camera. I’m a foot away from the DMV. You are a f—king a—hole,” he told the cop.
As the altercation escalated, another officer arrived on the scene. They ultimately decided to issue the artist four tickets for various violations, including an unregistered vehicle and expired license, but his car was not towed.
Before walking away, the officer told Ice-T, “Next time, just show some respect, that’s all,” to which he replied, “I don’t have to.”
