*Before it became a film franchise, “Friday” grew into a cultural touchstone that reshaped comedy storytelling, introduced unforgettable characters, and built a fan base that has kept its humor alive for three decades. That lasting impact is now set to be honored in a new live celebration led by Ice Cube and Mike Epps.
The two stars are bringing the franchise back into the spotlight with a one-night event titled “Everyday’s Friday: Lyrics, Loungin’ and Laughing,” scheduled for July 17 at the Long Beach Amphitheater, Hip Hop Wired reports. The project has been framed as a continuation of the film’s cultural life, one that still resonates with audiences 30 years later.
“’Friday’ has always been about and for the fans who made it a classic and kept it alive for nearly 30 years,” Cube said in the press release. “To be able to step back out there with Mike Epps and bring that energy to the stage for a one-night-only experience in Long Beach is special. This show represents the beginning of the next chapter.”

Epps similarly reflected on how often fans have expressed what the films mean to them, reinforcing the idea that the characters have remained part of pop culture far beyond their original release.
“Every day for the last 30 years someone has told me how much they loved the Friday Franchise and how much the characters mean to them,” Epps said in the press statement. “To reunite with Cube and bring this one night only experience to the fans is incredible.”
Interest in the reunion gained momentum after a joint appearance at Dodger Stadium on May 12, where Ice Cube and Epps participated in a ceremonial pitch and catch moment that playfully referenced their roles as Craig and Day-Day from “Next Friday” and “Friday After Next.”
The Long Beach celebration will mix performance formats, with Ice Cube expected to perform selections from his music catalog while Epps delivers a dedicated comedy set. Organizers have also confirmed appearances from guest performers including Warren G and Scarface.
Ticket sales beginning May 15 at 10 a.m. at this website. Fans attending are also being encouraged to take part in a costume contest inspired by characters from the franchise, with prizes awarded for standout entries.
